The Cuban Son has its origin in the eastern part of Cuba, arriving in Havana around 1909. One of the first popular Son groups created in Havana in 1916 was the Cuarteto Oriental, which in 1918 would become the Sexteto Habanero.
 
The conversations held by the bongo and congas without adversely affecting each other is performed.
